Host a Game Night

A group of friends playing games.

Without a doubt, it is hot here in Little Elm, TX. Due to the heat, you’ll want to find activities that you can do without enduring the uncomfortable warmth. Game nights are a fun, non-intrusive way to invite friends over and spend an evening. In this week’s The Mansions 3Eighty Apartments Blog, we’re going to share with you some tips on how to host a successful game night!

Snacks

Everyone loves snacks. Before game night, head to store and purchase some snacks that you and your guests will enjoy. Depending on the game you’re playing, you might want to acquire snacks that don’t leave any oily residue on fingers, since players may be required to move pieces while they play. If you’re unsure what snacks to buy, you can always invite some of your guests to bring their favorite snacks.

Comfort

As a good host, you want to make sure your guests are as comfortable as possible. Putting out extra pillows, cushions, and blankets will help to make the atmosphere a little more comfortable for them. Depending on the seating situation, they might need the extra cushioning to make up for an uncomfortable seat. Another aspect of comfort is having enough space, clear any unnecessary clutter and arrange the seats to provide your guests with ample room.

Games

Probably the most important part of game night, games are the reason you’re hosting a party. Invite your guests to bring their favorite games so the group has an opportunity to make decisions about which games to play. Encourage games that will be fun and inclusive. Try games like Pandemic, Mafia, Settlers of Catan, or even Dungeons & Dragons!
